Dear Residents,
Re: Update on Islands’ Flyer and FH Gate Access
The Board became aware of a new flyer distributed by the Islands earlier this week. We were not made aware of this material prior to its initial sharing at the Ft Hamer gate on Monday and have since requested clarification regarding several details contained in the flyer, specifically those related to proposed access rules at the gate.
We have now received some preliminary verbal clarification but are awaiting a formal response from the Islands board later this week. It appears that the information presented in the new flyer differs from the original plan shared with our Board during the initial meeting. Based on this updated information, aspects of the newly proposed plan may potentially impact RW Members’ easement rights.
Board Actions:
• Await the promised formal communication from the Islands board for full clarification.
• Review the new proposal with legal counsel to ensure that all RW Member easement rights remain protected.
• Continue communication with the Islands board to obtain clear, consistent information regarding gate access.
• Investigate reports of confusion and disruption experienced by RW residents at the Ft Hamer gate following the distribution of the flyer.
• Provide an updated summary to the community as soon as the formal response and legal review are complete.
We understand that these changing developments may cause uncertainty and frustration, and we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure full transparency and the protection of resident rights. Further updates will be shared as soon as the Islands board’s formal response is received and reviewed.
Regards,
River Wilderness of Bradenton Foundation
