Dear Residents,

Members of the River Wilderness and Islands Boards met regarding the new Islands access system for the gates at Fort Hamer Road. The system is called Proptia and can operate utilizing your existing RFID tags, which will allow you to enter and exit through the Old Tampa and Fort Hamer gates seamlessly.
For this process to work, the Islands will require your name, address, current automobile and RFID tag information.

We consulted with our attorney as Florida HOA statutes dictate what information can be shared with members of the community. Our attorney advised we can provide your name and address, however the other information obtained during our recent conversion to the RFID tags is considered confidential and requires specific permission from the resident to provide to the Islands.

Our goal is to balance confidentiality and convenience for our residents. To accomplish this, we would like to provide your vehicle information and RFID tag data to the Islands. The Foundation has set up a dedicated email address fhgate@rwhoa.org to which you can send your opt-in permission for this data transfer. Simply state that you agree to the transfer of your vehicle data.

We are asking you to provide your permission to opt-in to this data transfer by Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12 noon. This will allow the Foundation time to provide your data to the Islands prior to installation of the Proptia system.

Without opt-in permission, you will need to check in at the guest gate to enter and exit at the Fort Hamer gate.
