Dear Residents,

Re: Upcoming Paving Projects: Wilderness Blvd W, Oak Ridge Drive, Lakeside Circle (partial)

The paving work on Wilderness Boulevard West and Oak Ridge Drive and the partial pavement of Lakeside Circle will begin on Monday, March 23, 7am – 7pm and is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, March 31. Paving work will also include installation of Speed Tables on WBW.

Paving Schedule:
March 23-24 – Oak Ridge Drive & Lakeside Circle (the curve portion of LSC on the lake side where there is “alligator surface” damage).

March 24 – Finish Lakeside Circle, Start Wilderness Blvd W.

During Paving:

Paving will occur on one side of the road at a time; however, significant delays may be experienced.

We are diverting through traffic to the golf course, fitness center and Islands Estate drive via Wilderness Blvd East and Little Country Road during paving. This will help mitigate traffic on WBW. Directional signs will be posted.

OTR Gate: Sand will be spread at the entrances and exits to the OTR gate during paving work to protect the newly laid pavers from the incoming & exiting paving truck.

There may be some delays while we are paving the entrance at Old Tampa Road, which we will try to minimize.

Driveways & the entrance to Brookridge may be blocked for a brief time (approx. 15 minutes) during paving.

The Paving company will have “flagmen” on the line directing traffic so that we have a safe and efficient operation. RESPECT THE WORKERS AND DO NOT SPEED AROUND THE PAVING OPERATION. Don’t drive on the sidewalk or through your neighbor’s yard. Take a deep breath and be calm, it’s only a few seconds.

Garbage, Yard Waste and Recycle Pick Up will take place as normal. The paving company will pause if necessary to let the Waste Management trucks work around them. If a section of the road has been paved, the trucks can drive on the paved road. Please place your receptacles in the same place that you normally do.

Emergency Vehicles will be directed through by the paving workers with no delay.

Prior to start of Paving:

Turn off your sprinklers for the week. If the base gets wet during paving, it can ruin the paving operation.

Remind your vendors and visitors there is NO PARKING on the street on the days when the paving is occurring. Either have your vendors or visitors come the following week or park on your driveway. Any car parked on the streets during the paving operation will have to be towed if it cannot be moved.

After Paving is completed:

After the milling is complete a “tack coat” is applied. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH THE TACK COAT, IT WILL GET ON YOUR CAR ANDS DRIVEWAY.

As you exit your driveway after paving, do not stop and turn your wheels. Turn your wheels as you are moving to prevent damage to the new asphalt.

If you have any questions, please contact the board at, info@rwhoa.org

Please watch out for the workers and machinery during this process. Drive carefully. We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
