Re: Virtual Gate Guard – Residents and Guests
Starting December 18, the Old Tampa Road gate will utilize the Virtual Gate Guard Kiosk during the hours of 10pm to 6am. What does this mean for residents and guests entering RW during those hours?
For residents, there is no change, as residents will enter via thte resident lane using the RFID reader per usual. For guests, the following procedure should be used:
When a visitor approaches the kiosk, they will insert their driver’s license.

First-Time Visitors: If they are on the approved visitor list, the virtual guard (live person in a remote location) will process them for entry. If they are not on the list, the guard will call the resident for approval. (This is why residents’ primary phone number is important). |

Returning Visitors: If the visitor is already in the system, the kiosk will automatically verify their identity and open the gate. If they are not on the list, the virtual guard will call the resident for approval. |
The above procedure also covers vendors entering RW from 10pm to 6am to address an emergency, or residents who are entering RW during those hours in a rental car that does not have the RFID tag.
